CHANEL opens a "Grocery Store"

Coco Chanel will definitely come out of her grave to go grocery shopping at the Grand Palais at Paris and thank Karl Lagerfeld for recreating an entire supermarket inside the gigantic main hall stacked with fruits, veggies, canned goods, liquor aisle and home improvement department all truly dedicated to "CC". The Chanel Autumn Winter 14/15 show was a definite ode to consumerism at its most luxurious.

Each item was cleverly packaged with the charming play of words on wrapping.

Shimmering Tweeds are clearly the hottest fabric the coming winter. Silhouettes include short cropped tops and corseted waists jackets.

The Channel Sneakers and sneakers in a lace up boot made their debut at their grocery store.

The collection has a sporty dynamism with a layer of urban cool. Trends for slouchy trousers, hole filled workout knitwear, iridescent leggings and leather draw string shorts will reach its pinnacle in AW 14.

The accessories department too was a lot of fun with quilted wheeled shopping bags and Chanel chain metal baskets. There were Chanel cuffs, tweed covered bike lock chains worn as neck-pieces and plastic wrap purse were delightfully inventive.

Indeed this collection was a real Supermarket Sweep for Chanel.
Happy Shopping to all the die hard Chanel-holics ..
