The Male Garter

He's one of the most stylish men in the world, and David Beckham looks set to bring back an old fashion trend after stepping out with sleeve garters on Tuesday.

The ex-footballer was looking dapper  wearing a light purple shirt, with a mental band on each arm, and black suit trousers.

With his hair styled in an Errol Flynn side-parting and his eyes masked by a pair of RayBan Clubmaster sunglasses, many will be hoping to replicate David's vintage look.

The sleeves Garter was a prominent mens fashion accessory and was worn by bartenders, bookies and musicians to keep their shirt sleeves clean and out of the way while they worked. 

But with the technological advancements in textiles and fashion the metal arm bands have become more of a aesthetic than practical necessity for the modern-day stylish man.
